Alexis Gonzalez, Managing Partner

Alexis Gonzalez, Esq. was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated summa cum laude from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Finance, graduating cum laude from the University of Miami. Thereafter, Mr. Gonzalez attended and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law.

While attending the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Gonzalez achieved distinction becoming a member of the University of Miami's Moot Court Board and the Editorial Board of the Law Review. In 1999, he was admitted to practice law in Florida. Mr. Gonzalez is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle District of Florida.

Mr. Gonzalez began his legal career working for the largest Labor and Employment Management Defense firm in Florida. In this capacity, he represented employers in race, sex, disability, and pregnancy employment discrimination proceedings at the federal, state, and local levels; defended claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act; contract disputes with current and former employees, including disputes arising out of covenants not to compete and trade secrets; and handling claims for benefits by current or former employees under statutory schemes.

Thereafter, Mr. Gonzalez transitioned to a Downtown firm seeking to diversify his expertise into the areas of Business, Commercial and Real Estate. His prior experience litigating employment actions enabled a seamless transition into Commercial Law. Mr. Gonzalez worked on numerous complex and high-profile litigation matters whereby he helped obtain multi-million-dollar awards and settlements for the firm's clients. In this role, a major focus of his responsibilities involved analyzing a myriad of transactional agreements, which later proved pivotal in Mr. Gonzalez's independent practice in the areas of business, construction as well as real estate law.

Over the years, Mr. Gonzalez has further honed his skills in the Firms’ practice areas, representing among others automobile dealerships, banking institutions, caterers, condominium associations, homeowner associations, contractors, subcontractors, developers, educational institutions (including charter schools and academies), insurance companies, property management companies, private investors and individuals, real estate agents and brokers, mortgage brokers as well as residential and commercial real estate owners.

Mr. Gonzalez particularly prides himself in developing a strong relationship with his clients that is based on trust, sincerity, and reliability. His commitment to legal, community, business and civic organizations includes a longstanding association with the Latin Builders Association (LBA), where he serves as the LBA's General Counsel and a Director on the Executive Board. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, whose mission is to serve underprivileged children in the Miami area. Mr. Gonzalez was also selected to serve as a member of the Small Business Enterprise (SBE-C) Advisory Board and the Dade County Bar Association's Board of Directors.
